It was a big blow for the camp of the former president of the union, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa, as one of his close associates, Comrade Joseph Falope, the Ekiti council chairman stormed the national headquarters of the union to pay solidarity visit to the new leader, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede in his office in Abuja.
Until now Comrade Falope was a major backer of Baruwa in the southwest zone. Of all the 6 states in southwest, it is only in Ekiti state that the union is allowed to operate.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Falope expressed his loyalty to the new leadership of the union, promising that Ekiti council will not be found wanting in the discharge of its duties/responsibilities to the national headquarters.
Welcoming the visitor and his entourage, Agbede appealed to them to join hands with his administration to rescue and reposition the union.
