NDE disburses equipment to unemployed graduates in Ekiti community

Published by

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has disbursed equipment and tools to unemployed graduates in Ayetoro-Ekiti and Ido-Osi Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.

The Director General of NDE, Abubakar Fikpo, who spoke during disbursement in Ayetoro-Ekiti at the weekend, said the project was under the agency’s School-on-Wheels (SOW) resettlement scheme.

Represented by the state coordinator, Sanusi Akeem said the beneficiaries stood out during the course of the training in the community and would be supported with the start-up equipment for wealth and employment creation.

He explained that the NDE would remain committed to its mandate and efforts at providing the enabling environment for teeming unemployed youths in the country to thrive in self-employment through the learning of skills and vocation.

According to him, the resettlement covered fashion designing, barbing, vulcanising, catering, and hairdressing services.

The DG said, “Do not expect the government to do everything for you; this opportunity you are given, you will be wise to maximise it!

“The Federal Government, through the NDE, has graciously given you a moratorium of 3 months. Make judicious use of these start-up tools and equipment (Don’t see it as a National Cake) as you gradually pay back your loans.”

He encouraged the graduates to be determined and focused in their pursuit of contributing to the social and economic development of the community and the country at large.
