A man, Tendekani Kasalu, aged 34 has sued his wife, Doreen Musonga, 29 for divorce at the Matero Local Court, Zambia on allegations that she had turned into an alcoholic.

Doreen in response denied the allegation, stating that Tendekani was a liar.

She stated that her lips had never tasted a drop of beer since she was born.

Doreen told the court that the crux of the matter was that her husband was practicing wizardry.

She testified that when she checked her husband’s wallet, she found he had cut a piece of cloth from her pant, a piece of her shirt which he folded with an unknown root in between.

The magistrate, Gaston Kalala, after hearing both parties, dissolved their marriage and granted Doreen custody of their children.

Tendekani was ordered to pay K700 monthly for their children’s maintenance.

He was also charged K10,000 in installments of K500 monthly.
