Kano state government has approved the establishment of a Forensic unit at the state ministry of land and physical planning to curtail land documents forging.
The state commissioner of land and physical planning, Alhaji Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, disclosed this on Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission Commission (EFCC), Kano zonal command.
According to him, “they were at the Kano zonal command to cement the existing cordial relationship between the two organisations and to seek for more collaboration and working together. “
The present administration of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif is committed to fighting against corruption at all costs, especially in land sector.
Alh Kibiya added that since he assumed duty as the commissioner of land and physical planning, he encountered so many challenges which need to be addressed and find lasting solutions.
“As we are all aware, land disputes dominated agencies like ours, most of the cases you are receiving are land related, that is why, we found it necessary to pay you a visit to seek collaboration and a helping hand and through the synergy we can reduce land tussles and bring sanity in land administration in the state,” the commissioner emphasized.
“As a corruption-fighting agency, your service is highly needed to handle many complicated cases and complaints before us. Kano is a mega and fast-growing city in Africa, hence the tendency of having land disputes here and there,” he stressed.
Establishing the forensic unit will help the government’s commitment and zeal of fighting against document falsification in the Ministry of Land, he said
On his part, the acting zonal commandant of EFCC, Kano zonal command, Chinedu Ogbu assured the commissioner of his command’s support to the ministry at all times.
