Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN), in partnership with Mastercard, Parthian Partners, and GB Foods, is set to train 100 Corp Members on leadership skills through its Venture in Management Programme (ViMP).
Speaking on this initiative, The Executive Director of Junior Achievement Nigeria, Foluso Gbadamosi, said it is one of JAN’s ways of raising global leaders passionate about the well-being of nations.
Foluso explained that people overall go into diverse sectors to change the world for good as well as contribute to the attainment of UN SDGs, particularly Goals 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, and 17.
She added that it is necessary as the demand for extraordinary leaders has never been stronger in an ever-changing world where change is the only constant.
“This programme is one of JAN’s ways of raising global leaders passionate about the well-being of nations.
“People and overall go into diverse sectors to change the world for good as well as contribute to the attainment of UN SDGs, particularly Goals 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, and 17.
“Such is necessary as the demand for extraordinary leaders has never been stronger in an ever-changing world where change is the only constant.
“This year’s edition, which is the 23rd anniversary, marks the 23rd year of partnership with Lagos Business School and is the third time the programme will be held in hybrid mode.
“Annually, about 100 graduates are taken through activities aimed at sharpening their entrepreneurial and work readiness skills.
Speaking on behalf of GB Foods, Mr. Vincent Egbe, the general manager of GB Foods Nigeria, said, “Young leaders have inspired major transformations in Nigeria. From the founding fathers of Nigeria’s independence to global music icons, these young leaders have been shaping how we evolve.
He noted that VIMP has played a critical role in the nation-building of these new leaders for over two decades, as evidenced by VIMP alums like Bosun Tijani, who are now serving ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and leaders across many spheres and sectors.
“This is why we support the VIMP programme because it is building the leaders of tomorrow and today.”
