To avoid a heart attack, it is usually advised that one should maintain a healthy diet. This is because, a balanced and healthy diet can help prevent the buildup of plaque in the arteries, which is a leading cause of heart attacks. It is also important to avoid foods that are high in saturated and trans fats, salt, and added sugars. In addition, regular physical activity can help strengthen the heart, lower blood pressure, and improve blood flow. You should aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity exercise per week. Since chronic stress can increase the risk of heart disease, it is important to find ways to manage stress, such as meditation, yoga, or deep breathing exercises. Smoking is a major risk factor for heart disease. Quitting smoking can help improve the heart health and reduce your risk of a heart attack. Also, maintaining a healthy weight is important because being overweight or obese can increase your risk of heart disease. Maintaining a healthy weight through a healthy diet and regular exercise can help reduce this risk. Get enough sleep: Sleep is essential for overall health, including heart health. Aim for seven to eight hours of sleep per night. Limit alcohol intake: Excessive alcohol consumption can increase blood pressure and contribute to heart disease. Limit alcohol intake to one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men. By incorporating these lifestyle changes into your daily routine, you can help reduce your risk of a heart attack without relying on medication.
