Funke Akindele delights fans’ with palliatives

A few weeks ago, it seemed as if the whole world was against Funke Akindele. Fans came at her, really hard, for violating the social gathering restriction, alongside her husband, JJC Skillz, Naira Marley and a handful of other celebrities by throwing a party to mark JJC’s birthday.

In the build-up to the coronavirus-induced lockdown which halted economic activities in many states, the popular actress, who is fondly called Jenifa, was seen raising awareness about the novel virus for an antiseptic producing brand, warning people to adhere to guidelines in order to curb the spread of the virus.

The saga did not stop with criticisms on social media. She was arrested and charged to court, eventually paying a fine and doing community service.

However, in recent days, the award winning actress appeared to have put all the troubles behind her and is fast regaining acceptance with fans through charity.

With many facing hard times because of the shutdown of economic activities across the country, the actress rolled out palliatives to fans in order to help cushion financial challenges.

No fewer than 200 persons were awarded five thousand naira each on Instagram last week as people were randomly selected.

R gathered that another set of donation is expected to continue by Akindele in the coming days.

As the days of rejection seem long gone for the 42-year old mother of two, it would seem that her empathy is endearing her once again to her fans.
