Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Ebonyi State chapter on Tuesday, congratulated her member Monday Uzor on his new appointment as the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Francis Nwifuru.
Chairman and Secretary of the union Comrade Tony Nwizi and Comrade Nnamdi Akpa disclosed this in Statement they signed and made available to journalists in Abakaliki.
According to Nwizi, Uzor’s appointment is a well-deserved one and urged him to always count on NUJ support as his experience in the field of Journalism and his personal disposition and discipline, single him out as a square peg in a square hole.
Nwizi, however, thanked the governor for honouring NUJ.
The Statement reads “The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Ebonyi State Council, heartily Congratulates *Dr. Monday Uzor* on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary to Ebonyi State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
“Your experience in the field of Journalism with your personal disposition and discipline single you out as a square peg in a square hole, and we are not in doubt that you will deliver on this onerous responsibility.
“NUJ is happy with your well-deserved appointment and as you count on our support, be rest assured of our fervent prayers to God to guide you on your new job.
“We appreciate His Excellency the Governor for this honour done to NUJ.
“Once again, congratulations!”
Recall that Monday Uzor is the elder brother to Emmanuel Uzor, a one-term Chief Press Secretary to former Governor David Umahi.
