Despite lockdown, Edo University starts second semester

UNDETERRED by the continued closure of schools in the country as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Edo University Iyamho (EU), Edo State, has announced the commencement of the second semester for the 2019/2020 academic session.

A statement by the university’s registrar, Dr. Isoken Ogboro, explained that the semester would commence online on Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and Edo University Iyamho’s Academic Information Systems (AIS) to enable students beat the continued lockdown in the education sector.

Mrs. Ogboro said that students’ course registration would start on Monday April 27, 2020 through the AIS/LMS platform while the second semester academic lectures would begin on Monday May 4, 2020.

The statement further advised all the students to visit the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and Edo University Iyamho’s Academic Information Systems (AIS) platform to start the academic activities as stipulated.

Edo University was the first Nigerian university to introduce the Canvas Learning Management System in the country.
