COVID 19: Tolaram Group supports FG with N1b

The fight against the spread of Coronavirus in the country, received a boost, recently, as Tolaram Group, promoters of Indomie Noodles, Power Oil, Hypo and other household brands in Nigeria, has announced a donation of the sum of N1bn cash and some of the Group’s products to the federal government.

The donation, the Group explains, is to combat the spread of COVID-19, as well as for the treatment of diagnosed individuals in Nigeria.

Speaking on the donations, the Group’s Managing Director, Mr. Haresh Aswani, expressed the belief that the donations would go a long way in enhancing the medical facilities on ground, especially testing, isolation, provision of treatment facilities and the humanitarian palliative measures, essential to curb the spread of the virus and support Nigerians in its aftermath.

While commending the  efforts so far put in place, by  government in checking the spread of the pandemic, Aswani assured that the company would  continue to explore other areas of intervention to support the cause.

“It is a difficult moment for any government globally. But, so far, our government has done remarkably well in her fight against COVID-19, and must be commended. Tolaram will continue to collaborate with the government and all relevant agencies at both the federal and state levels to jointly combat the effects of the virus,” he added.

The Tolaram boss further stressed that the Group, in collaboration with Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), had also embarked on an enlightenment campaign to educate Nigerians on COVID-19 through various media channels, based on World Health Organisation’s guidelines for safety at this period.

Aswani further commended the sacrifice and effort of medical personnel who risk their lives daily, by taking care of infected people, in order to help curb the spread of the virus in the country.

He however urged Nigerians to continue to abide by the advice prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO), Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Federal and State Health Agencies, so that the spread of the virus can be halted.

While reiterating the Group’s commitment to making life better for Nigerians, Aswani described the donation as one of the numerous steps the Group had taken in curbing the spread of the pandemic in the country.
