[BREAKING] COVID-19: Lagos, Ogun record two new cases, totaling 42

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that there are two new cases of coronavirus (covid-19) in Ogun and Lagos States respectively.

According to the NCDC website, the new cases were confirmed in the mid hour of Tuesday.

NCDC tweeted: “2 new cases of covid-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 1 is in Lagos State & 1 in Ogun One case is a returning traveler. The second case is contact of a previously confirmed case As at 1 pm on March 24, there are 42 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria-2 discharged, 1 death.”

The Ogun State Government has confirmed the new case of Coronavirus in the state.
This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, on Tuesday, during. a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Governor’s Office, Abeokuta.
Coker said the patient, a 62-year-old man, a resident of Sagamu, returned into the country from the United Kingdom on March 17 and thereafter developed one of the symptoms of the disease.
She informed that all the 32 contacts of the patients had been traced for isolation.
“Today, we have a newly confirmed case of COVID-19 in Ogun State. The said case is a 62-year-old male who resides in Sagamu, and he had history of recent travel, returning on the 17th of March.
 ” He was presented with history of cough and was tested and the test came back positive. Our priority at the moment is to provide care for the gentleman. He’s been transferred to our isolation centre which is located at OOUTH Sagamu.
“He has recently returned from United Kingdom. And the contacts traced. All his contacts who are 28, healthcare giver and four members of his family. 32 altogether. We’ve been able to contact them. He’s been very responsible by isolating himself since he arrived, therefore he’s made our job quite easy in tracing his contacts,” the commissioner added.
