Bauchi Police arrests 10 suspected armed robbers

10 suspects have been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command in connection with cross border armed robbery, and several exhibits were recovered from their possession.

The suspected syndicates were said to have been terrorising Bauchi, Taraba and Adamawa States for a while.

A release by the PPRO, DSP Ahmed Wakili contained that, On 12th June 2020 at about 2203hrs a distress call was received from one Saidu Abdullahi 38 years of Agric Quarters Tirwun, along Maiduguri road, Bauchi that armed robbers are holding him hostage at his residence after they collected his Honda CRV and ATM Card among others and forced him to give the ATM pin code which they later used and withdrew the sum of N120,000:00 from his account domiciled in UBA.

The PPRO added that, On receipt of the information, a team of operatives attached to the Command Intelligence Bureau swung into action and arrested the suspects; Musa Ahmed AKA ‘morale’ 21 years of Bakin Kasuwa Girei Adamawa State; Musa Sadiq Garba, AKA Antidote, 22 years of Hayin Gada, Jimeta, Adamawa State; Mustapha Almustapha AKA, Khalifa 19 years of Wunti street, Bauchi State; Yakubu Musa, AKA Gwaska, 21 years of Inkil Gombe Road Bauchi.

Others are Lukuman Ibrahim AKA Ajasu 23 years of Tirwun area, Maiduguri Road, Bauchi; Ahmed Buhari, AKA DJ Jalingo Taraba State; Abdullahi Lawal, AKA Dogo IGBO Quarters, Isa Mohammed of Tudun Yarima, Bauchi and Abdullahi Aliyu of IGBO Quarters.

The syndicates confessed to having been operating for a long time, around Taraba, Adamawa and Bauchi States where they have stolen many vehicles and sold them in Cameroon and the Niger Republic, the release added.

The Exhibits recovered from them include; One Honda CRV motor vehicle, ash in colour with registration No. TFB-273-RC, One rubber pistol gun, One machete, One-touch light, Five handsets, a cash sum of N119, 000:00, One HP core 15 laptop and ATM Cards of various banks.

The Commissioner of Police, Lawan Jimeta then enjoined people of the state to report any suspicious individual or group and desist from concealing any form of offence in their vicinity. Further calls on parents and guardians to be inquisitive and place their children on a watch.
