At Tabieorar 2023, Nigerians pray for mercy, nation

It was an atmosphere of intense prayer and worship from the dusk of August 22 to the dew of August 23 for the nation and individuals, at the Mount Tabieorar of the Church of the Lord (Aladura) worldwide as thousands of faithful from all walks of life besieged the church’s international headquarters to grace the 2023 edition of the annual prayer festival.

The prayer ground of the Mount Tabieorar, along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway, Ogrere Remo, Ogun State, became a Mecca of sort as people of different class and tribes stormed the prayer mountain. The crowd overflowed to the extended parts of the church premises.

With joy, gladness and spirit-filled, the venue came alive when the church leader and the primate of the church and the president of World Council of Churches (WCC) for Africa, Most Reverend Rufus Ositelu, and other clerics were ushered in into the prayer ground with glamour and hymns possession.

The programme with the theme, “Merciful and Covenant God”, according to the church authorities, was centered on Nigeria as clerics and the church leader charged the congregation to intercede for the nation, particularly on the restoration of peace and divine mercy on Nigeria.

The highpoint of the event, which was the 13 Blessings Prayer session also did not leave out prayers for the nation as Primate Ositelu at every session of the prayer, which include, forgiveness of sins, cleansing, mercy, blessing, perfect peace, good children, victory, salvation, healing, joy, favour, holy spirit and steadfastness, led the huge crowd to intercede for the nation for the establishment of peace and sustainable growth.

While congratulating the new leadership at the federal and state levels, Primate Ositelu, prayed that God will grant them to succeed in their tenure in office.

He, however, urged the government to use the gains from the subsidy removal judiciously to improve poverty alleviation programmes, and the lives of the masses, including youth empowerment, infrastructural development, health services, and education.

He urged Christians at large not to doubt God; hence, they should be steadfast and believe in Him irrespective of any challenges and situations of the country.

“Beloveth of Christ, the mercy of God will be with you all and grant you supernatural favour in all ramifications. When you choose to obey God, keep His commandments and demonstrate our faith in Him, we will experience His kindness and great testimony. The God of mount Tabieorar will grant your supplications,” he prayed.

Ositelu also prophesied that 2024 will be a year of great mercy and reward, just as he noted that everyone will be paid according to his or her deeds.

“Nigerians should not throw away their confidence. Just as the Samaria of old, the Lord says He will open the floodgate of blessings upon Nigeria and the challenges we see today we will see them no more,” he added.

The festival also featured the ministration of gospel minster, Aduke Gold, and a host of other minister as they lifted souls of worshippers at the programme.
