Adedigba Theresa is the founder of Olori Asaraloge perfumes. She recently shared her entrepreneurial journey and experience with ROTIMI IGE. Excerpts
Adedigba Theresa popularly called Olori (Queen), a graduate of Banking and Finance from Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, is an entrepreneur who deals in perfumes/fragrance to help find desired smell for people with her brand, Asaraloge.
According to Adedigba, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Olori Asaraloge, her business is a fully registered platform with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
”I decided to go into entrepreneurship because I have always wanted to be able to make my own money while also putting smiles on people’s faces. Although, I believe that it is sensible to learn under someone that can play a role of a mentor before venturing into one’s business,” she said.
”I want to change the world. I have always wanted a lifestyle that is not bound to the conventional 9-5pm and being an entrepreneur affords me that luxury. I am also passionate about selling”, she added.
Reacting to the challenges in the world of business today, Adedigba highlighted capital, competition and client management as the major ones. So many times, she says it is difficult to start up small business because of financial constraints, but adds that no matter how bad or good a start up might be, there’s always room for improvement and growth.
”There is hardly anything in line of business that is totally new but being able to break into an existing market and having to convince people to buy one’s products is another challenge”.
Adedigba also explained that different people with varied personalities will necessitate different approaches to sales.
“Some clients can be nice and friendly while some could be so difficult. One needs to be dynamic enough to be able to deal with any kind of customer,” she said.
Proferring solution to these challenges, Adedigba opines that with the way things are going, it would be of great advantage if entrepreneurial schemes/programmes are introduced in the curriculum of tertiary education, in order to prepare the upcoming generations for the ever dynamic world.
”My advice for fellow entrepreneurs in the same line of business is that they should endeavour to keep being real, have standard for quality, excellent service delivery,” she asserted.
Adedigba, a native of Osun State, is happily married with two children.
