Anambra LGAs service commission chairman bag Unizik administrative leadership award

Chairman of Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Vin Ifeanyi Ezeaka, has been honoured with the Outstanding Professional Leadership Service Award by Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, Anambra State.

The award was given to him by the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, during its 2nd International Conference/Alumni Coverage (HYBRID) of the Department, held at ASUU Secretariat Unizik Awka, on Friday.

According to the Head of the Department, Dr Ifeoma Nnaji, the honour was in recognition of Chief Ezeaka’s contribution towards the transformation of Anambra Local Government Administrative System from analogue to digital in less than one year in office.

Appreciating the department for the recognition, the Chairman harped on the need for parents to invest in their children’s academic lives, noting that quality education was the best weapon to conquer the world. He pointed out that it was the debt that every parent owed their children.

He encouraged students at the department to be serious with their studies in order to be relevant in the time to come.

According to him, the honour is in order, because, what we are doing at the Civil Service Commission under my watch is to ensure that the local government system in Anambra is migrated from analogue to digital system in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of digitalizing the State to International best standard.

“I thank you all for trying to encourage me to work hard to propagate the vision of the governor and to make him happy for appointing me. So I am dedicating this award to him, who actually located me and gave me this assignment and I promised, I would do my best to justify the appointment.

Chief Ezeaka, while eulogizing the dexterity, focus and innovative mindset of the Head of the Department, Dr. Nnaji and her team for ensuring the huge success of the programme, announced that the Commission will partner with the Department to train workers across the 21 local government areas of the State.

He equally used the occasion to call for leadership with sincerity, purpose, and selflessness across all level of government in Nigeria.

Earlier In her address, the Head of the Department, Dr Nnaji, disclosed that they organized the event to recognize the excellence that Chief Ezeaka and other awardees represented and also to equip the students with knowledge about the current happenings in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa Region.

Dr. Nnaji, appealed to education lovers in the country to support the department with a Toyota Sienna bus and administrative laboratory equipped with desktops, electronic boards, printers and other ICT facilities to ease their day-to-day runnings.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the conference with the theme: Building Strong Institutions For Effective Leadership And Good Governance In Sub-Saharan Africa; Lesson From The Nigerian Experience was declared open by the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone.
