No fewer than 50 primary schools are to benefit from N750 million assistance from Norway foundation, a UNICEF program for Self Inclusive Learning and Skills (SILSA) in Zamfara.
In a statement issued by the Zamfara state Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB) public Relations Officer Ibrahim Musa Maizare said the schools were selected from ten local government areas in the state.
He disclosed that UNICEF Focal person in Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Muzamil Ibrahim made the pronouncement during the distribution of safety and security kits to benefiting schools for the first quarter in the state.
“Zamfara State is among the selected states in Nigeria to benefit from the gesture of the Norway foundation”.
“The Norway Foundation is a body which provides support to primary schools as part of measures of curtailing the menace of insecurity in the state and nation in general”.
In his Address during the presentation of safety and security kits to schools, the Acting chairman, Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board who is also the Director Administration of the Board , Alhaji Aminu Kanoma, Commended the effort of the Norway foundation for distributing the gesture and assured of the Board’s readiness to ensure proper monitoring on how best to make use of it.
He called on the benefitting schools to use it judiciously and pray for divine intervention in the restoration of peace across the state and country at large.
