President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the postponement of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) earlier scheduled for Tuesday.
Governors elected under the platform of APC met with the President ostensibly to fashion a way out of the leadership crisis bedevilling the ruling party.
At the end of the about 15-minute meeting, the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, told State House correspondents that the president agreed to their request for the postponement the meeting.
He said the meeting will hold when the governors are able to resolve the present crisis.

The meeting, which started at 3 pm, took place behind closed doors inside the president’s office.
Asked whether the meeting was related to the leadership crisis in the APC, Bagudu stated: “We met with Mr President, amongst other issues, we discussed about the party in appreciation to Mr President how he has given access to each of us individually and collectively.
“And amongst the issues we discussed was the resolution that the governors have taken to work together to resolve all the issues in the party.
“And also we sought Mr President’s support to postpone the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting that is scheduled for tomorrow until such a time that the governors are ready to report back.”
On whether the president agreed, he said: “Yes. He’s so happy that we all agree to that.”
All governors of the APC were present in the meeting with the president except Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Yahaya Bello (Kogi) and Mai Bala Buni (Yobe).
