Tinubu will make Nigeria progressive, developed – APC Stalwart, Chief Gizo

A founding member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former gubernatorial aspirant in Plateau State, Chief Amos Gizo, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is out to turn Nigeria into a progressive, highly developed, and prosperous country.

Speaking with newsmen, Chief Gizo said the steps taken by his administration in the past thirty days since his assumption of office were pointers to his determination to rescue Nigeria and reposition it.

According to him, the speed at which he hit the ground running depicted that the President is not out for a jamboree, adding that it was an indication that the myriad of challenges confronting the country had been properly diced and solutions proffered before he assumed the leadership of the country.

He said, “the yearning and aspirations of Nigerians were put into consideration in the appointments of the Service Chiefs. This is the first time in the history of Nigeria that such appointments will be made without much complaint. There was no controversy over the appointments.

“Also, since the appointments of the Service Chiefs, the rate of insecurity in the country, especially in the North-West and the North-East, has reduced, probably as a result of the new approach to the security architecture of the country.”

The APC stalwart who said President Tinubu has not let the country down going by what he has done so far added that the removal of the petroleum subsidy was not meant to inflict pain on Nigerians but part of a plan to get the country out of the woods.

“He has not let the country down; he has done quite a lot of things since he assumed the leadership of this country. The removal of petroleum subsidies is not a punishment for Nigerians but a move to get the country out of trouble. What Nigerians term difficulty is the sacrifice they need to make for the country to get better. Definitely, it is not going to be easy, but Nigerians should bear with the President. He pleaded.

On the Plateau State APC stakeholders meeting, Chief Gizo said it was not a reconciliation meeting because there was no formal invitation to most of the aggrieved party members who needed to voice out their grievances to address the internal wrangling rocking the party.

Some of us attended the meeting because we saw the invitation on the platform, but none of us received an invitation letter for the meeting. So some of us did not see the invitation. There is no agenda for the meeting, so who spoke on our behalf? All the statements made were prepared statements, and some people used the occasion to apologize to those they had offended, so there’s no reconciliation.
