The health benefits of walking

I read somewhere that walking is very beneficial to one’s health and that it is a very good form of exercise in the current lockdown. Kindly let me know how true this is.

Walking may be one of the most powerful “medicines” available. It can help lower your risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and even keep your memory sharp. The simple activity of walking has so many powerful health benefits including assisting with weight loss. In view of the current Coronavirus pandemic, it will be advisable if the walking is confined to your compound. However, if done far from your home, it is advisable to use a face mask for protection against the virus.
