Sit-at-home order records total compliance in Imo

Published by

The sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra in commemoration of Biafra Day recorded total compliance in Imo State as all shops, markets, remained closed while all the roads were deserted by people.

The order which began on 29, May 2021, climaxed on Monday with a no movement of people and vehicles Imo State capital, Owerri, and environs, where people complied with the directive.

Traders, civil servants, commercial bus drivers, motorists among others were not seen on the roads as everybody sat back in their respective homes, in total observance of the order.

This was despite the repeated advice by the Imo State Government that residents should ignore the order and go about their normal businesses devoid of harassment and intimidation.

This year’s sit-at-home order recorded total compliance than the previous years in the state.

Mr Ebee Udensi, an Owerri resident, told Nigerian Tribune that the order had shown that IPOB was serious if it could give order and everybody obeyed it.
