Remi Tinubu distributes N10m, food items to vulnerable group

The wife of the President and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed N10 million and 2,000 bags of food items to vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities in Kano State.

On Thursday, on her behalf, the wife of Vice President Hajiya Nana Shettima, at the occasion held at the Government House, Senator Tinubu distributed 2000 bags of food items to the needy as well as N500,000 in start-up capital to 20 women farmers.

The First Lady urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the donated items while urging them to appreciate the governor’s kind gesture.

Hajiya Shettima stated that the gesture was motivated by the concern of the First Lady for the plights of the needy and persons with disabilities.

She therefore expressed optimism that the interventions would go a long way in assisting the needy in society.

However, Hajiya Shettima, who was accompanied to the state by the wives of the Senate President and the Speaker, lauded groups and individuals who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the day.

While speaking on the occasion, the Kano State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Danjuma Mahmud, appreciated the First Lady’s motherly disposition towards the needy while expressing his appreciation to the people of the state.

He also announced additional donations of one pumping machine and one hectare of land to the women farmers by the Governor of the state.
