Premier League mourns death of Queen Elizabeth II

The Premier League has joined millions to mourn the demise of Queen Elizabeth II who died at the age of 96.

This was made known via its official Twitter handle on Thursday following the monarch’s death.

“The Premier League is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with The Royal Family and everyone around the world mourning the loss of Her Majesty.”

The Monarch died on Thursday after ruling for 70 years.
