‘Porn rewires your brain’, Banky W says during Sunday service

Published by

Acclaimed music industry tycoon and now prominent political figure, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has pornography as a prison capable of rewiring one’s brain when addicted to it.

The music executive said this in a sermon on Sunday at Waterbrook church in Lagos where he attended for worship service alongside his wife, Adesua Etomi.

Banky W, also a reverred pastor, took center stage to deliver a compelling sermon on a topic; “The Prison of Pornography.”

During his sermon, Banky W addressed the congregation, offering insights into the influence of thoughts and the power of God’s word to reshape one’s mind and soul.

He stated, “You decide which thoughts to focus on. You decide what comes in, what goes out, what gets to stay. You can not wheel a thought out of your mind. You can’t get it out of your mind because it has been suggested to you. You can only replace it with a more powerful thought. You can only replace the thoughts that the devil suggests with a truth that God says, so you’ll renew your mind with the words of God.”

Highlighting the impact of pornography on the human brain, Banky W compared it to computer systems, stating that, “I told you earlier that porn rewires your brain. They say the brain is the most brilliant computer on earth, and they said we only use 10% of our brainpower.

That’s how brilliant our minds are, so we have brilliant hardware but our software is dysfunctional. It’s like when a virus enters your computer system; eventually, it starts to take over the whole computer. Porn rewires your brain, but the word of God is the most powerful thing to rewire your mind and your soul.”

Meanwhile, Adesua Etomi was seeing holding hands with his husband during an emotionally charged worship session and standing by his side throughout the service.
