Popular social media influencer and life coach, Babatunde Olusola Thomas, popularly known as Shola Jayy The Dope has reacted to the lifting of the Twitter ban by the Federal Government.
President Muhammadu Buhari government had on Wednesday announced that following an agreement on certain terms, the seven-month-old ban on Twitter operation in Nigeria has been lifted.
Joining other Nigerians in reacting to the development, the digital marketer said the action was a fruitless effort that happened because the government was selfish.
According to Shola Jayy The Dope, the effects of the Twitter ban on small businesses in Nigeria especially among youths was evident for all to see.
The Chemical Engineering graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) further said Nigerians who are already facing challenges can now breathe fresh air.
“If not for 2023 election which is fast approaching, these governments wouldn’t have lifted Twitter ban, the ban really affected a whole lot of brands, stopped their promotional plans, reduced influencers’ income too, but that wasn’t enough reason to lift it, selfish government.”
