PEPC commences judgment in Obi’s petition against Tinubu

A few minutes after it dismissed the petition brought before it by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for being incompetent and lacking in merit, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) commenced judgment on the petition filed by Peter Obi and his party,  the Labour Party (LP).

Obi, like Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is seeking to nullify the February 25 presidential election that produced Bola Tinubu as President.

In his petition, Obi alleges irregularities and substantial non-compliance with the constitution, electoral laws and INEC’s guidelines for the conduct of the election.

Obi, who claimed to have scored most of the lawful votes cast at the election, accused INEC of manipulating the electoral process to favour Tinubu and the APC.

Justice Abba Mohammed is delivering the judgment of the tribunal.
