Notorious gunrunner who supplies arms to kidnappers arrested in Kogi

Nigerian military has announced the arrest of a notorious gunrunner and arms supplier identified as Naziru Mohammed.

The suspect is said to be supplying weapons to terrorists that have been abducting innocent people.

Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Dan Madami, made the disclosure on Thursday in Abuja during a briefing on activities of the military and security agencies against criminal elements in the country.

Madami, in the briefing, disclosed that the suspect was arrested at Murtala Mohammed Bridge, in Koton Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to him, the suspect has been on the wanted list of the military.

He also disclosed that 1,000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a large sum of money, two mobile phones, one tricycle and one motorcycle were recovered from the suspect.

He said all recovered items that have been recovered have already been handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
