UPDATE: Notorious gang leader, Ebila, murdered in Ibadan

Ibadan notorious gang leader, Ebila, has been murdered around Kudeti area, at about noon on Sunday.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that there was a clash in the area in which security agencies responded to.

Ebila’s gang was suspected to have murdered another gang leader, Ekugbemi, earlier in the year and there had been fears of reprisals.

When the Nigerian Tribune contacted the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, he confirmed the killing of the notorious leader of the One Million Boys, Ebila, on Sunday.

In a telephone chat with the Nigerian Tribune on Sunday, SP Fadeyi said Ebila and his gang members were causing mayhem in Kudeti area before security operatives moved in to save the situation.

He said operatives of the Swift Response Squad (SRS) and other police tactical squads were already in the area to maintain peace.

The state police spokesperson said two suspects had been arrested in connection to the crisis.
