At least nine people were reported to have been killed, while dozens were allegedly kidnapped by bandits along Kaduna-Kachia road in the early hours of Tuesday.
An eyewitness told Tribune Online that the incident occurred less than a kilometre to Kasuwan Magani in the Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to the source when he arrived at the scene he counted nine corpses believed to have been killed by the bandits.
He said a bus conveying Anglican Church members was abandoned and its occupants were believed to be taken by the kidnappers inside the nearby forest.
According to him, those that got killed were in a truck loaded with firewood, while the kidnapped persons were believed to be occupants of an Anglican Church bus and a Gulf-4 saloon car.
At the time of filing this report the state spokesman, ASP Muhammad Jalige, could not confirm the incident.
Also, the Ministry of Internal Security Home Affairs is yet to make public statements on the incident.
