NGO distributes food items to vulnerable persons in Lagos

Published by

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), FoodClique Support Initiative, has distributed 1000 cooked meals and 200 boxes containing non-perishable food items to the vulnerable in the Ebute-Metta area of Lagos State.

The Initiative set up to remember the late CEO/Founder, Mr Bolajoko Fadipe, a philanthropist and community organiser, aimed to end hunger by providing various interventions such as free school meals, community kitchens, family meals, senior meals, kids feeding programs, and others to help the less privileged.

Speaking at an event attended by many beneficiaries and volunteers, Member, Board of Trustees (BoT), Mr Ibrahim Onilegbale, emphasized the need to continue to remember the late Bolajoko’s legacy and his strive to end hunger, saying that the layers of personality that were embedded in the late philanthropist and community organiser were outstanding.

Onilegbale described the late Bolajoko as a loving father and a caring husband, adding that he was someone who “sees the problem of others” and, therefore, a development that informed the establishment of the FoodClique Support Initiative.

“Bolajoko was a loving father and a caring husband. Someone that sees the problem of others as his and it was what informed the establishment of the FoodClique Support Initiative,” he said.

He stressed that Bolajoko’s worldview of hunger and ways to resolve it was pertinent, saying that the legacy must be preserved.

Speaking in the same vein, the media director of the Organisation Faruk Adetola, said the good work the late philanthropist had done had inspired many, adding that the body was committed to it in order to “truly eradicate hunger.”

Faruk concluded that were the late Bolajoko to be here alive at the gathering, “he will be at the forefront of sharing these meals and providing direction to how more people will receive these meals and food boxes.

“We will continue to live by the standard he has set by being our neighbour’s helper,” the media director said.
