Apart from becoming addictive, drinking can also negatively impact sleep as the alcohol in your blood interrupts and compromises the recovery effects of your sleep cycle. Some good substitutes for alcohol include; Sparkling water, Decaffeinated tea, a hot shower or bath as well as light music and Television.
