My PhD, a dream come true —Joke Muyiwa

Veteran actor-cum-lecturer, Joke Muyiwa, has described the completion of her Ph.D. progamme at the Redeemer’s University as a fulfillment of life achievement and a dream come true.

The news of Muyiwa’s new academic status took over social media platforms on Thursday with friends and family congratulating the popular actress for putting in the effort to complete her Ph.D. programme.

The mother of one, who took a lecturing job about 16 years ago at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, alongside her acting career bagged a doctoral degree at the institution on Wednesday.

Speaking to R on the development, the ace actress said she is fulfilled and elated at her academic achievement, adding that, “I give God the glory for this landmark success in my career. It has been an interesting journey and I thank God that I am now a Ph.D. holder in Drama and Film Criticism.”

“I see myself as a fulfilled being and a complete thespian.Forty years of acting practice, which includes 16 years in the academics. Without doubt, I am fulfilled. I also appreciate everyone that contributed to my success story in life,” she added.
