I recently discovered a lump in my right breast during a routine self- examination. Although the lump is still very small, I don’t know if I should ignore it or show it to a doctor. I am afraid of any operation to remove it. I am 18 years of age.

Congratulations on your ability to detect the breast lump through self –examination. This kind of examination is what many young ladies are expected to be doing on a regular basis. Having said that, the next step is to see a doctor who will further examine you and decide on what to do for you. Removal of the lump is a painless procedure followed by a pathological examination is highly recommended.
