Communication gaint, MTN has remodeled the science laboratories at the St. Augustine College, Ibusa in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking at the inauguration of the project, the  state government commended the MTN foundation for engaging in corporate social responsibility (CSR) towards the uplift of communities in the country.

The state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, stated that such partnership between the state government and corporate organisations was a welcome development as the government could not shoulder the burden of education alone.

Okowa called on other corporate bodies and well-to-do individuals to emulate the MTN Foundation so as to contribute their quota to the development of communities as part of their CSRs.

He admonished the principal and students of the school to ensure that they maximise the facility, put it to good use and ensure they safeguard it from vandals.

In his welcome address, chairman of St. Augustine College Old Students’ Association, Chief Nosike Agokei, commended MTN Foundation for remodeling the science laboratories in the school, stressing that it will go a long way in contributing to the teaching of science subjects in the school.

The Executive Director, MTN Foundation, Mr Dennis Okoro, said that the Foundation was set up by the communication outfit to handle CSR in order to give back to the society.

The Obuzor of Ibusa, Professor Louis Nwaoboshi, commended the foundation for the project, which he insist will help in the teaching of science subjects in the school.
