Man, 55, seeks N10m for kidney transplant

FOR Igbinlola Olufemi, a resident of Orita Aperin, behind St Peter’s Church in Ibadan, Oyo State, all is not well. His kidneys are not functioning properly and this has made life unbearable for him. The 55-year-old civil servant needs an urgent assistance of N10 million for kidney transplant surgery.

The father of four who can no longer perform his duties as a head of the family and husband, had to stop working as a result of the ailment.

Narrating his ordeal to the Nigerian Tribune, he explained how he suffered from hypertension for 18 years which has now led to the failure of his kidneys.

“I am a civil servant, I worked at the University college Hospital (UCH) and they have tried a lot for me. The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) gave me six slots for dialysis treatment, UCH gave me four slots and I have used them all.

“Every week, I undergo the dialysis treatment twice a week which costs N33,000 per session and I have been paying for it myself. I spend a lot on dialysis so I can be alive.

“My doctor has informed me the dialysis is just a temporary respite. The best solution is to undergo a kidney transplant which will cost 10 million naira.

“I am a married man with children still in school. I do not have anywhere to turn to. Presently, I am not working because if I take a few steps I get out of breath.

“I plead with Nigerians to come to my aid for me to undergo this transplant so I can live a healthy life.

The survival of Igbinlola Olufemi and his family depends on the efforts of kind-hearted people now.

For enquiries and assistance, Olufemi can be reached on his mobile number 08062456956.

Financial assistance can be sent to the following bank account details: Igbinlola Olufemi, Access Bank, account number 0033962782.
