The Lumosa family, representatives of the Estate of Iyalode Efunronye Tinubu, has recalled its Board of Trustees (BOT) members on the estate on the grounds that they are not representing the family as expected of them and for specifically taking decisions outside the agreement of the family.
The family made agreed unanimously to dissolve the house especially the BOT members at its general meeting held in Abeokuta, Ogun State on May 20.
The Lumosa family stated that they had to take the action because they do not want anything that will tarnish the good image their forefathers left behind, adding that whoever deals with the dissolved board and its members does so at his risk.
“The whole family unanimously agreed to dissolve the house especially out BOT members on the ground that they are not representing the family as expected of them and we cannot continue at that level till when the good image which our forefathers left behind begin to derail
“With effect from this date, anybody that deals or acts on any documents signed by our dissolved BOT members has nothing to do with our family and such actions are not valid. We will also formalise the process in a court of competent jurisdiction,” the family said.
The dissolved BOT members are Alhaji Adio Kassim and Safiu Kassim and the family had through its acting secretary, Monsuru Lawal, in a communiqué sent to fellow representatives of the estate, the Sobowale family, warned that anyone who has dealings with the dissolved BOT members does so at their own risk as this was not the position of the family, adding that “we shall inform you of further development in due course.”
It was stated that the recent development is due to a recent announcement made by the BOT members on May 16 in Abeokuta, declaring that the family had revoked the power of attorney of the estate from Akinfolabi Akindele and given it to Lagos Lagoon Park Resources.
The family dissociated itself from this move and accused the BOT members of misrepresentation and illegally giving the power of attorney to another person outside their agreement.
The family described this as a breach that made them lose confidence in their representatives, leading to the dissolution of the board.
