#LagosDecides2023: Sanwo-Olu wins polling unit in L/Island

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, won his Polling Unit 006, Ward E3 in Eiyekole in Lagos Island, in the Governorship and State House of Assembly Election held on Saturday across the state, polling a total of 121 votes to defeat his immediate rival of the Labour Party (LP), Gbadebo Rhodes- Vivour who polled just two votes.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr AbdulAzzez Olajide Adediran popularly called Jandor scored just one vote.

The results were announced by the presiding officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) immediately after sorting and counting were concluded.

Sanwo-Olu also defeated the LP Governorship Candidate, Rhodes-Vivour at the Polling Unit 067, Ward Ikoyi 2, in Eti Osa Local Government Area (LGA), situated in front of the residence of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sanwo-Olu of the ruling APC scored five votes to defeat the LP candidate, Rhodes- Vivour who polled three votes.

The president-elect, Tinubu alongside his wife, Remi, had earlier cast his vote in his polling unit at Alausa in the Ikeja area of the state.
