Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje
KANO State government in its effort to assist the underprivileged students acquire qualitative education has approved N489.258 million for the payment of 2020 NECO/ National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) examinations for 29,126 students.
However, Tribune Education recalls that the state government had said only students that obtain five credits and above, including Mathematics and English, in the qualifying examinations would benefit from the payment.
According to a statement by the public relations officer of Kano State Ministry of Education, Aliyu Yusuf, the state government has also approved the release of qualifying examination results.
The statement noted that this followed the submissions made to the State Executive Council by the state Commissioner for Education, Malam Muhammad Sanusi Sa’id Kiru.
Malam Sa’id Kiru, while congratulating the students for their good performances, urged them to reciprocate government’s gesture by ensuring that they pass their NECO and NBAIS examinations in flying colours.
