Is the astrazeneca vaccine safe?

With all the noise about adverse reactions and uncertainties surrounding the Astrazeneca  (AZ) Vaccine, I want to ask if the Vaccine is effective and safe?

From time immemorial, it had been established that no vaccine or medication for that matter is 100% safe or 100% effective. Even, the childhood vaccines which many of us took as babies were not perfect. However, from all the tests that have been undertaken, it has been confirmed that the AZ vaccine is as safe as any other vaccine presently being used to fight Covid. The Vaccine has the added advantages that it is cheap ($2) and doesn’t require deep refrigeration. That means it’s ideal for poor countries without the equipment to deep freeze the vaccine. The nearest vaccine in cost, ‘Pfizer’ cost 6 times more. Moderna cost 9 time more. In conclusion, the AZ vaccine is considerably safer to take than catching Covid.
