I have been enjoying my daily bottle of beer after dinner for the past 40 years. However, during my recent 60th birthday, my children advised me to stop drinking alcohol on health grounds. Please advise me as I am in good health even after 40 years of alcohol.

Although there is no medical reason for you to stop drinking after 60 years when done moderately as you are currently doing, you may decide to gradually reduce your drinking as you grow older. This way, your body will be able to cope with the occasional problems that alcohol may do to the body.
