I am always constipated

Published by

I am a 60 year- old pensioner who has been of good health for some time. I recently retired from government work. Since then, I noticed that I get easily constipated. Kindly advise me on what to do about this.

Your constipation could be as a result of your new status which may be less active than before. This will therefore lead to sluggishness in your bowel habits and the constipation. The solution to this will be for you to indulge in more physical activities such as exercises, and some hobbies. In addition, you will need to increase your intake of fluids (water, orange juice etc), fruits, vegetables and high fibre diet. It will also be important to reduce your intake of carbonated drinks (soft drinks) and junk foods.
