Gunmen kidnap 6 in Osun

Six persons were kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday by yet-to-be-identified gunmen along the Aworo/Asi area of Ila-odo in the Odootin local government area of Osun state.

Investigations revealed that those kidnapped were Chief Grace Agboola (Iyalode of Oyan), Surveyor Ige, Mr Fadahunsi Apata and three others.

Informed sources hinted that Agboola managed to escape in the den of the abductors while the remaining five persons were still being held hostage..

Speaking on the development, security sources who preferred anonymity disclosed that, the police had been briefed accordingly on the development and that, all efforts are being made to fish out the perpetrators of the act.

While confirming the kidnapping matter, the spokesperson of the state command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mrs. Kehinde Adeleke, said, that immediately after operatives knew about the happening, the command swung into action to rescue the kidnapped victims.

She, however, said that security agencies and local hunters in the community and its environs have been deployed for search and rescue missions.

The command spokesperson assured that all hands would be on deck to ensure the evil perpetrators are nabbed and brought to book.
