Governor Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State has unveiled an application for direct performance monitoring to drive progress, efficiency, and effectiveness in government.
In his address at the unveiling ceremony in Jos, the governor said Plateau State was the second to launch the ‘DASHBOARD’ app . after the presidency, adding that this was made possible through the unwavering efforts of the Strategy and Results Delivery Office (SRDO).
He mentioned that the aim was to have a critical view as well as track all activities in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), adding that SRDO and the development of the app are crucial because the world at large is holding on to accountability, transparency, and strategy in planning and results-driven decision-making.
The governor further added that SRDO also aims to ensure that good policies and programs are aligned with the state’s vision and goals.
“Furthermore, the SRDO would also ensure a meaningful conceptual framework towards identifying and addressing all obstacles and challenges, tracking progress, and measuring the performance of all the MDAs and Ministries, as well as develop and implement a comprehensive development plan, set clear priorities and targets, and foster a culture of accountability.
“The establishment of the SRDO symbolizes the fulfillment of our campaign promises, particularly in our determination to ensure the ease of doing business and promote e-governance.
“Furthermore, it represents a leap forward in embracing digital technology, which creates a government that is responsive, efficient, and results-driven-oriented.”
The Governor therefore charged the SRDO to work closely with all the MDAs and Ministries to develop strategic plans and programs for our dear state, set performance targets and benchmarks, provide comprehensive data-driven insights, and monitor and evaluate progress.
He added that the administration is poised to ensure that this government effectively tracks, monitors, and reports the performance of MDAs in line with our priorities.
Governor Muftwang enjoined all MDAs and parastatals to embrace the opportunity to foster a culture of accountability and, together, create a future where governance genuinely serves the needs of the people in line with the aspirations of our government.
He equally appealed to all the MDAs to work together with the office to ensure a seamless process and warned that on no account should any ministry or agency underrate the activities of SRDO, which aims at ensuring sustainable development through strategic planning, effective implementation, transparency, and ensuring impactful results for Plateau State.
