Kogi State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) has confirmed the death of five persons in a auto crash involving two vehicles along Lokoja/Kabba road.
The incident was said to have occurred on Thursday in a village between Agbede and Agbadu villages along Lokoja/Kabba road.
The State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Samuel Oyedeji who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that the two vehicles involved are a Ford Galaxy space wagon and a Mazda car.
He said that eight persons were involved in the accident while three sustained serious injury.
The two vehicles were said to have collided while at high speeds trying to overtake a truck.
“A Ford Galaxy space wagon and Mazda car collided, eight persons involved, leaving five dead and three others injured.
The two vehicles heading in opposite directions were said to have collided when one was trying to overtake a truck but met the other suddenly and collided with the one coming from the opposite direction,” he said.
