Fans drag Tiwa Savage over ‘stretch mark’ comment

Published by

Just as a lot of celebrities have been attacked lately on the internet since the lockdown, leaving no one out, Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, has also received her own slice of the ‘dragging cake’, as she was attacked on Instagram for a comment in which she mentioned stretch mark.

The singer was dragged on Instagram recently when she dropped a comment on American singer, Kelly Rowland’s page admiring her picture. The American singer who posted a jaw dropping picture of herself in one of her recent posts on Instagram captioned it: “It’s not a thirst trap I’m just gonna leave this here. #39”

Tiwa, however, dropped a comment under the post saying, “OMG not even a single stretch mark”. This did not go down well with many of her followers and internet users, many of who saw her comment as rather too ‘shallow’ and ‘dumb’. One of the users who replied Tiwa Savage said: “that is a very dumb compliment considering she has them. It’s talk like this that makes women insecure with their bodies. She has them and she looks beautiful. That is all you needed to say…”

The American singer reacting to the conversation going on under her post replied one of her followers who asked how she got so lucky not to have stretch marks on her body, saying, “I have em! Will post a pic sooner or later, so you can see. I aint got nothing to hide!” Many Nigerian fans of Tiwa Savage also feel it served the singer right as they claim she was trying to ‘gum body’. On the other hand, some of her fans feel she did not say anything wrong and that people were just being ‘too sensitive’.
