Edo APC factional chairmen trade words over authenticity

Factional Edo State chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), David Imuse, on Monday, insisted that Mr Anselm Ojezua is no longer the rightful chairman of the party in the state.

Ojezua, however, fired back saying that Imuse and not he was the real impostor as he has a competent court order affirming him as the chairman.

Imuse, a loyalist of the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole called on Ojezua, who belongs to Governor Godwin Obaseki’s camp to stop parading himself as the state chairman “and stop deceiving himself, Edo State people and Nigerians.”

Imuse who spoke in Benin City on Monday said that Ojezua was only representing Governor Obaseki and Edo Government House, where all his actions end.

He pointed out that the removal and suspension of Ojezua as chairman was ratified by the National Working Committee of the party and subsequently suspended as APC member in the state.

He said: “Since the ratification of his removal as chairman and his subsequent suspension as APC member in the state, I have been the one attending all APC national and zonal functions.

“At the last NEC meeting, I was in attendance while Ojezua sat under the mango tree. I was also present in our meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari. Ojezua should stop been an imposter, it cannot help him and his master.”

The factional chairman warned Ojezua to stop parading himself as APC chairman in the state having been removed, suspended as a member of the party and all the processes ratified by NWC, adding:

“The Independent National Electoral Commission and APC faithful in Edo State and Nigeria should be reminded of this character.”

Ojezua said: “Imuse has a contempt court order hanging over his head.”
