APC group hails Speaker Abbas on Ezenwankwo’s appointment

The All Progressive Congress (APC) support group, South East APC Vanguard, has commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, for ensuring inclusivity in his appointment of 33 legislative aides including Hon. Okwudili Ezewankwo, as the Special Assistant, Political Matters (South East).

The group in a press conference in Awka, on Friday, stated that the appointment of Hon. Ezenwankwo is a well-deserving appointment, which is acceptable by APC members in South East and beyond.

The group led by Comrade Chinonso Pat Onwuchekwe, commended the Rt. Honorable Speaker for finding Hon. Ezenwankwo worthy of the appointment, and stated that the appointee is very well qualified having been a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency in the 9th National Assembly.

According to him, Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo is an experienced lawmaker and would no doubt help the Honourable Speaker in steering the leadership of the Federal House of Representatives in the right direction considering the enormous expectation of Nigerians from this administration.

Comr. Onwuchekwe also condemned the purported rejection of Hon. Ezenwankwo’s appointment by a group he described faceless APC group in South East, saying that the said non-existing APC group made a series of publications and some malicious comments aimed at misleading unsuspecting members of the public regarding the well-deserved appointment of Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo as Special Assistant, Political Matters (South East) to the Speaker of Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas with an intent to discredit the name of Hon. Ezewankwo before the Speaker.

He went further to say, “The South East APC Vanguard therefore wish to urge our Honourable Speaker of Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas to ignore any falsehood from any quarters concerning the appointment of Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo as his Special Assistant, Political Matters (South East).”

According to the group Convener, “Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo in 2021 worked so hard to install an APC governor in Anambra State. We are also aware that Ewepudike has projects in all 31 communities in Orumba North and South Federal Constituency. In fact, he was unanimously adopted as APC candidate in Orumba North and South Federal Constituency election in the just concluded 2023 elections by majority of APC members in that Constituency because of his popularity.

“Hon. Ezenwankwo as we know has been our associate committed member. The mark he made in APC during the 2021 governorship election is still fresh in our memory. We therefore state that his appointment as Special Assistant, Political Matters, (South East) to the Honourable Speaker is well deserved and meritorious, that majority of APC members in South East are happy with his appointment. We thank the Honourable Speaker for finding Hon. Ezenwankwo worthy for the appointment and wish to assure the Speaker that Ezenwankwo, will deliver on his mandate.”

“We are also using this medium to congratulate Hon. Ezenwankwo for the appointment,” Onwuchekwe concluded.

Nigerian Tribune gathered the group reaction to the appointment of Ezewankwo, by the Speaker, was coming barely three weeks after taking over the lower legislative chamber of the 10th National Assembly Abuja.
