Allow Gov Nwifuru to focus, Ebonyi PDP chieftain tells critics

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party,( PDP) in Ebonyi State Chapter Chief Maurice Mbam, has called on those sponsoring critic attack against Governor Francis Nwifuru to desist from such an act.

According to Mbam, who noted that governance is not a day job, expressed dismay that opposition in the state have been using groups to be attacking the governor immediately he assumed office.

Chief Mbam, describing the attack on the governor by the opposition party as wicked, urges the attackers of government to allow the governor to focus and govern the State which he has started doing.

Mbam made the call on Monday while briefing some journalists at his residence in Abakaliki.

He however urged Ebonyians to give maximum support to the governor than distracting his administration,  maintaining that governor Nwifuru has  shown commitment in his governance.

“The opposition should allow His Excellency the Governor to take his own move as the governor of the state. It is too early for people to begin to distract him through criticisms.

“I know the governor is equal to the task having held the House of Assembly very strongly for eight years as the Speaker.

“So, you can’t mount pressure on him because he is not the type of person you can mount pressure on. The issue of opposition coming up so fast is not very good.

“I am calling on opposition groups wherever they are coming from to allow his Excellency to take his own shot and show us what he has to offer and from  the way he has started, I think he has started well.

“Most of us who were by the side, were watching how he is going to take off but he has set the ball rolling. He has appointed a woman SSG and you know when a woman is involved, things will move on well.

“He has appointed Commissioners from all the 13 local government areas of the state. You have seen what is happening in the environment because of refuse heaps which have been evacuated within the space of two days.

“People should understand that governance is not a day job. It is not something that somebody will just wake up to one day to go and do. If he is not qualified to be in that seat, I don’t think that he will be there. Now that he is there, the best thing is for people to allow him to do what he has come to do for the state,” Mbam started.
