Ado-Odo indigenes set for ground breaking of traditional ruler’s new private palace

The ancient town of Ado-Odo has gone into full festivity mood as citizens and the traditional ruler of the town, Oba (Dr) Abdul-Lateef Adeniran Akanni, have prepared for the ground-breaking ceremony of the traditional ruler’s ultra-modern private residence on Saturday.

The event will take place on the premises of Alamuwa Grammar School, while the foundation ceremony will take place at the construction site, Ogun State Housing Corporation, Oke-Oyinbo, Ado-Odo.

The event will be witnessed by federal and state government officials as well as traditional rulers across Yorubaland.

Leading notable traditional rulers to the occasion will be the Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle and the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege.

Also expected at the event are leaders from the private and public sectors. The multimillion naira private palace of Oba Abdul-Lateef is designed to complement the town’s traditional palace and will serve as the Oba’s residency pending the completion of the ongoing processes towards modernising the ancient palace.

The traditionalists, including the Egungun, Eso and Ofe deities will also be on the ground to entertain guests at the event.

The traditional ruler enjoined all the sons and daughters of the town, friends and other stakeholders to donate towards the project, stressing that Ado –Odo, which is open to business, is blessed with natural and human resources.
