Zamfara: It’s too early to assess Gov Dauda — Commissioner Magaji

The Zamfara state Commissioner for Housing and Town Planning Hon Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji has urged supporters of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to be more patient with the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal, saying it’s too early to assess his stewardship.
Addressing newsmen on Tuesday in his office at JB Yakubu secretariat in Gusau, Hon Moyi Birnin Magaji disclosed that the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal has a lot of programs with lots of appointments for the development of the entire state.
“Politicians and other supporters should wait and see, It’s too early to complain about the present administration In terms of appointments in the state.”
Reacting to the recent nomination of Birnin Magaji local government council’s sole administrator, the commissioner, who is the chairman screening committee and leader of PDP in the area, revealed that the Governor has the right to appoint any person from any ward.
According to him, the appointment of a sole administrator of Birnin Magaji local government council was solely the power of the Governor, he only acted on instruction “I only deliver what I was told to deliver.” He said.
“I was instructed by the Governor as leader of PDP in the local government of Birnin Magaji to do what I was asked to.”
It could be recalled that some stakeholders of PDP in Birnin Magaji, comprises of the ten ward chairmen in the area led by the state’s financial secretary, Hon. Sani Ibrahim Alti Birnin Magaji, accused the chairman of the screening committee, Kabiru Moyi, of single-handedly selecting the caretaker Committee chairman.
Honourable Sani Ibrahim stressed that what happened during the screening and appointment of the caretaker Committee chairman in Birnin Magaji local government was a political blunder, lamenting that it was a one-man show.
