Wike holds 3rd-anniversary thanksgiving alleges FG plans to assassinate him

RIVERS State Governor, Nyesom Wike, yesterday held a church thanksgiving service of his administration during which he has alleged that the All Progressives Congress APC-led Federal Government was plotting to assassinate him in a crowd and claim accidental discharge.

Speaking during the event at Living Faith Church in D-Line, Port Harcourt on Sunday, the Governor claimed; “Intelligence report available to us as at this morning indicate that they are plotting to assassinate me in a crowd and claim it was an accidental discharge.”

He said that the plots of the APC Federal Government and her associates would not intimidate him as he remains committed to the defence of democracy and Rivers State adding that the plot would fail because God would continue to defend him.
He said: “The level of conspiracy against Rivers State is unfortunate. Instead of focusing on governance, they focus on how to assassinate me or frame me up.”

Governor Wike informed the church, that the APC Federal Government through the Inspector General of Police plotted to plant millions of dollars and AK 47 at his Abuja residence when the Police sought a search warrant from an Abuja court.

He reaffirmed that Rivers State is a complete Christian state and urged Christians to continue praying for the protection and prosperity of the state.

He stated that the challenges faced in the society today are because Christians have become too cold to pray to God and defend their rights and further urged pastors and Christian spiritual leaders to charge their members to participate in the 2019 general elections.

“Prayer is good. In this Thanksgiving, I hold no apology to anybody and I will continue to say that Rivers State is a Christian state. Christians have kept quiet so much. God did not say as a pastor you should not involve yourself in the activities of the state”, the Governor stated.

He added; “Don’t just go home and rest, as pastors and our spiritual leaders, you should help and tell all members of the community that they must contribute to the success of 2019 elections. Take it upon yourselves to say you will participate and decide who becomes your leaders in 2019.

“If you know the plans of the enemies, the extent the federal government has planned against us, there is need to thank the Lord. You should know that God has taken over the care of Rivers State.”

Wike who thanked God for a successful and fruitful three years administration, however, recalled that recently, the Inspector General of Police, ordered for search in his house in Abuja, saying it was also God that vindicated him at the court.

“Recently, the Inspector General of Police ordered for search in my house in Abuja. They planned to plant millions of Dollars and AK47 arms but they were surprised at how the secret was revealed to me. Court has given a verdict that my house must not be searched. It is God that won.”

Earlier, the presiding Pastor at the Thanksgiving service, Pastor Isaac Folaji, noted that it was necessary for Christians to always have a grateful grateful heart towards God.

Pastor Folaji who spoke on the Theme: Walking in Financial Dominion, said nobody who follows God according to His words, will be left empty handed, adding that wisdom is the platform for walking in financial Dominion.

Some of the dignitaries who attended the thanksgiving service included wife of the former President, Dame Patience Jonathan, serving Senators and House of Representatives members, Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Ipalibo Harry Benibo, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ikuinyi Owaji Ibani, prominent politicians both in the state and outside the state.
